It explained that he was one of the most, refined blind echo locators in the world, and this show gave a glimpse into his everyday life. His struggles and difficulties, achievements and just the overall general life of the blind individual he was. Normally I don't like to watch shows like this, because seldom do they interest me, but this however did, because I too am blind and have been since birth. I enjoy finding out how other blind individuals work and use different methods to be more independent and get through the daily challenges of life. Sure, sometimes it may be inspiring, but more than that, stories like this remind me that I’m not alone in the world. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve met my share of other blind persons, and I’ve even lived with them. However, I have come to find that it is rare for other blind persons—to meet each other in daily life unless you go out of your way. Although don’t take that as a stereotypical thing, I’m just speaking from my own vantage point, and commenting on what I have been told by my visually impaired and blind friends, that I have met over the years.

Anyway! Watching the piece, I found myself identifying with the youth in more ways then one. Being or becoming blind in life is nothing to be taken lightly and it comes with it’s own set of challenges like everything else. Just depends on how you deal with it and the strength of your soul. What gets me is the fact that people don’t understand sometimes, just what it takes to deal with a so called ‘handicap.’ Or ‘disability’ until it happens to them or a family member and even then sometimes they don’t understand. But, if you have the time, I think you should watch this. Tell me what you think. Tell me if you think any different of the blind then you did before watching this movie. If you have any questions about myself and my own blindness feel free to ask and I will try to answer as to the best of my abilities.

Now, without farther delay, here is the entire documentary:

Hope you enjoyed the movie.

One of those moments...

Tonight I felt like an awful person. I was out taking my dog for her last park for the night, which for those of you that don’t know what ‘park’ is, spell it backwards. Anyway, that’s beside the point, I was doing this and as I went to go inside because she hadn’t gone. As I go, I hear someone coming up close to me and stopping and all of a sudden I hear this kids voice and they ask if I had a phone and if they could use it. For some insane reason, I felt around for my cell and I hadn’t brought it out with me. So I told him “No, I’m sorry I don’t” I didn’t even think of the house phone and letting him use it. Thinking back on it, this kid seemed alittle lost and all. I felt like a horrible person and as soon as I had turned him down and went back inside. I thought “Oh wait! The house phone he can use that!!” So I rushed back outside to tell him he could use the phone if he really needed too. But, by the time I got back outside the kid was no where to be found, I was on the look out for him about thirty minutes or so afterwards, hopeful that he would come back my way and all. So he wasn’t outside after dark. I really do hope that kid got someone to let him use there phone and that he is ok. I feel really stupid for not thinking alittle better, in that situation.

New~

Oh, the title says it all. I'm totally new here to blog spot so, while I'm trying to figure things out I hope you all bare with me. I''ve been thinking about switching here for some time and today my cousin, asked me to joined. Of course, I said yes, I mean we've always done everything together so why should this be any different.

I use to be a blogger on Xanga, and I had a good run for about a year. Then things started to get busy and I lost track of updating my blog. When I was finally able to come back and start updating again, xanga had pretty much died so I descided to move sites and see if I had any better luck. Hopefully, I will get back to blogging and updating regularly and this site will work out for me, better then the last.
